what we finally all know now.

I still have a few of those heavy duty plastic cups they were serving beer in on that final run in Boston.

This was kind of a fun show to be at. Touch>BIODTL opener was different. Jerry was tryin like a bastard to make this a good one. The rest of the band cooked hard to try and push Jer into the X-factor with them. Sometimes it worked. Ibarely remember this show cuz of drugs.I'm not complaining, just very thankful the Dead allowed recording so we can recall the memories. Thank you for a surreal good time!

Box of Rain always cracks me up... Phil is the bomb and I give him credit for trying, but Simon would throw him off....

Subject: THANK YOU for A (real good time)
This too was my last show.......The last show I ever enjoyed. I went to vermont for my last show. Having been one that use to follow them around from 79 to early 89 having never missed a show from ventura 82 to shoreline 89. That was a long run, alot of good times and some really sad ones also. Sad cause I had gotten into the harder life style that so many of us had gotten into. That being said this was actually fun, the fact that I was sober helped a bit. Anyway this was a good time cause the GARDEN WAS ALIVE. Having been to some shows that were just mindblowing over the years this was a pretty good show. Not mindblowing but good..... I am not and never will be a fan of the vince days. I enjoy the early years I was on the scene, back when the band was the show. No light show, no big stage, no screens on the side of the stage. Anyone here remember the days before all the food vending at the shows the day when people sold stuff to get into the show and get to the next. Not the days people who couldn't even spell greatful dead ha ha... were following them to make money only. these are the good old days "wavey gravey"

Subject: The Last Night in the Boston Garden.
..sadness, so many memories from this room. This was nearing the end of the road for The Grateful Dead, no one really knew HOW soon the end would unfortunately come, but the energy of the band was off and on at this point, and it was evident to most experienced heads that this couldn't last much longer without Jerry having a major change. I agree with the previos post, this shows sounds MUCH better than I remember it live. At the time I thought it was a bit disjointed and sliggish. Although many shows from these last few years had that feel.
Get this tape if you don't have it, I think it's decent and has some nice really moments and the recording is very good.
this is the last time the Grateful Dead ever play this very historic room and in classic Grateful Dead fashion, end the run with Brokedown Palace, Jerry jumbles the words a bit, but oh well we can all deal with that once in a while..During his quick little solo I remember staring up at the ceiling of the Garden looking at all the banners and feeling bittersweet that the run was over.. They never set foot in Boston Garden again.
We had tickets in hand for the fall 95 tour which was slated for a run here in the Garden, but we all know the sad end of that story..

Subject: Better than I remember
This was the last show I attended. For a reason. At the show itself it felt rushed and somewhat incomplete. As a result I was hesitant to listen to this show. I must admit I am pleasantly surprised. It sounds a lot better than I remember. BIODTL is very well played with good energy, Rooster also jumps. Box of rain to open the second was nice and the Shakedown is much better than I recall. Around and Around is very good and I do recall thinking that was good at the time. Perhaps I was out of it this night because it is definetly better than I recall. A five? no, not when you consider what else is avaiable, but considering the year I give it a 4.

Subject: not bad
set list is better than the actual playing. Overall not a bad way to end the garden run. Since 94 was a clinker of a year you could say this garden run was pretty good for this time period.

Subject: GREAT SHOW!!!!!!!!!
Our seats were at the back of the Garden opposite the stage half way up in the balcony and I couldn't believe how great the sound was.
We knew it was gonna be a good night when Jerry forgot the lyrics to Touch Of Grey, later in the set came a chooglin version of Loose Lucy, I was blown away. Second set opens with Box Of Rain!!! into a friggin incredible Shakedown, Phil bombs made the balcony shake.I don't really remember much else (kind bud). Get this one

Wow. What a set list. I was at 10/1 and 10/2. This looks like it was fun.

Subject: GREAT SHOW AND GOOD SOURCE!
I was at this show, and it ended uup being the final GD show at the Garden. Jerry died the next summer just after we got our mail orders for The Never To Be Final GD Boston Garden shows.

Excellent show. The crowd was really into it, and the Shakedown is truely worth the entire download alone. ENJOY!

Subject: solid
good recording sound, well rounded show throughout, played fairly well...bird song kind of falls apart for me and never really makes it all the way back to the momentum it had...would have loved to been at this one...wolf, box, attics, palace in one show! would've been tough to go too terribly wrong.

Notes

"[The PMB mics] were made by a now defunct German company, about 15 years ago. The mic's are self powered (AA batt in each), the 2 sets of capsules that I have are the shotguns (about 12" length) and the small capsules which have a figure-8 pick-up pattern. Balanced output at the mic. They were owned by a speaker designer from England. Before working w/ Home audio, he worked w/ pro sound. He did lots of recording @ small to large venues in the UK. He recorded for broadcasts. He stuck w/ these mic.s through the end of his recording days."
